I forget because I use the hosts file (google "wikipedia hosts file"). I think it's a little more efficient than using the plugins, but the plugs are definitely the easiest to install. Search youtube "jimmyrcom remove ads" to see how to block ads using the hosts file

fishfishstinkx: Probably the best way to make Firefox launch over 50% faster is having this little program called Firefox Preloader. It sits in your system tray and keeps Firefox in memory at all times. Also, you can right click it and select reload if you need to close Firefox and re-launch it.
The only downside is if you leave your computer on for a long time, Firefox begins to take lots of your memory and it will slow down your system, so it's good to reload Firefox at least once a day.

If you mean like ActiveX and stuff then the answer is yes, I use it, it's called NoScript, it blocks all scripts and stuff unless I say it can go, it makes your computer more secured against malicious codes ;)

musalini007: also....how about "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set it to 0.....create that as an integer in firefox....put it simply....sets it to 0 seconds between when firefox gets the data and does something with that data.... it was crashing firefox at first but after installing fasterfox...it works fine and loads pages alot faster....

KeybladeSephi: in the video, you said "woops, I have to have a tab open" when you were trying to right click on the tab bar. if you go to Tools > Options... (or Edit > Preferences in Linux), you can go to the Tabs section and check "Always show the tab bar" so you can always right click and use those features that tab mix plus has, as well as the default features included in firefox (undo closed tabs, reload tab, close other tabs, etc)

ytrewQwerty: The tabs things can be done all in FF3 now simply by:
1: Hold ctrl then click and opens in new tab.
2: The clsoed tab feature is by default in FF3
3: To config FF3 to open previous tabs and does not promt you (just close then open again) do: Options > Main (Drop Down) when FF starts and select "Show my windows...".
Whats good about the last feature is that it stores scroll position, any text in text boces etc and automatically creates login sessions when website's server removes them.
hgpot: I can't get to about:config to FF3, I have to use my sidebar's feature that automatically goes there.
GamersLayPark: You guys can download add-on called 'Tweak Network' for easier, just like 'Tiny Menu'. And also add a new integer by right-clicking at the about:config page 'nglayout.initialpaint.delay' set to 0.
