jimmyrcom: yep, but when you try to print it'll say an annoying "This program is not registered". It'll also block you from saving nwc files after 30 days, which doesn't limit your ability to turn midis into sheet music and print them.

justagiggolos: Hey Jimmy, if you want Sibelius for free with keygen download Morpheus from download dot com you can also get Finale 2006 or earlier for free with the keygen. There is a software called sharp eye but they haven't perfected it that technology yet. In theory, your suppose to be able to scan a FULL score and it will open up EXACTLY like the way it is in the book when you scanned it. For small stuff like your doing it's fine. Good luck.
jimmyrcom: Thnaks for the info on sharp eye, hadn't heard of it before sounds interesting. Many people Have dialup or have something against piracy so p2p is not an option for them. I wanted to make this a tutorial anyone could use.

jimmyrcom: you need to buy a basic reading music book or find a friend/family who can give you a few lessons. Search "reading music" on google. There's really no way around it, you'll eventually have to memorize notes to their position on the staff.

ShadowMatt3421: Just thought I'd help a couple people out. If you are trying to Play a piece and hear nothing. Go to Edit. Click on Properties and then click on the 4th tab over saying "Instrument". From there you chose an instrument and then you can hear the piece played. :) Hope it helped a lot of you!

3hlang: you can just delete the treble clef and then add the alto clef. highlight the whole staff and then hold control+shift and then use the arrows to move it down one or up one for bass clef

Reeal15: Also, I'm sure many of you might have figured this out, but if you have a keyboard that cam with a floppy disc with songs on it that the keyboard will play, those are MIDI files and usually can be notated with Finale, Sibelius, etc. I have Finale Printmusic 2007 and I love it. I never really download MIDI files but when I do, with finale I can chage the sounds.

TheRitards: nice, i do this too with noteworthy. many times you hafta filter out some of the lines put into the midi. Like if you just wanna play piano you may hafta do some tweaking. I find that sometimes noteworthy also messes up some rhythms . its nothing major, but i do a lot of arranging so for me i can only use as a guide.

When u play windows media player it turns off the SW synth
To fix this just right click on the volume button on the start bar at the bottom and OPEN VOLUME CONTROL then turn up the nob on the SW Synth

That noteworthy composer is an older simpler was a big advantage for me, as I am a linux user. It installed without a hitch on linux.

rgn39: Thanks for posting this. I looked all over the internet for sheet music for Blue Skies but couldnt find any. Took me only a few minutes with NWC to get what I wanted. Not only that you extract the staff you want to play then delete it from the file and use the remaining file as accompanyment when you play. Very cool.

marioaran: Haven't tried Noteworty, but I can recommend Finale NotePad. There are also better versions of Finale you can buy, but NotePad is the free downloadable one. I use Finale Printmusic, and I'm quite satisfied.

what he did was that he started playing the .mid file windows media player then he just started play it at noteworthy composer. they play at same time so it sound wrong so remeber to quit media player after then u can do whatever u want ^^

The only problem is NoteWorthy Composer is an extremely bad program. Nothing really works correctly and its unbearably confusing to transpose things (although it seems easy on the video). I suggest if you want to do this use a better program. I use PrintMusic! 2004, which is cheap and works much better then noteworthy composer.

2. Position the insertion point to the right of the note and at the pitch for the second note in the chord.
3. Press Ctrl+Enter to place the second note in a chord with the first note.
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 to add more notes to the chord.

NymphetamineOrchid: I use Noteworthy Composer religiously! This was a nice tutorial. I've also used finale and sibleius. While they are nice, they are expensive and probably way too advanced for what most people want them for.
If anyone needs a hand transcribing sheet music, example: getting two right hands and one left. you can contact me and I can either fix it for you or walk you through it. This is a great great program!

altdelete7257: Use ABC Navigator 2. Free and prints beautiful tunes. But just for melody lines. Search for title plus .abc or title plus .mid. Use free version of Melody Assistant or Harmony Assistant to convert midi to abc for use in Abc Navigator 2.

1. Find the midi file
2. Find the download button
3. DOnt click it instead right click it and save link as
4. Make sure file type is midi and save it to desktop or a folder
5. Open noteworthy and go to the folder you saved the midi in and open.
6. Shout YAY

Shadow14l: No, music files are pure sound files, midis are encoded text, when a music player plays them, it goes through it note by note and plays it.
It is possible to convert midi to mp3 though.
