I used to play an mmorpg in french called dofus.

Rosetta stone, pimsleur, and the late michel thomas also have several language courses, but they're not free unless you use torrents or p2p.

akumie Anyonwe knows a site where you can learn basque for free? sounds clips would be better....all these sites have some weird language but mostly big ones like french, soanish... but very hard to find smaller languages like basque (euskara)

ross3488 @YungMeatball Well the "So fuck you" part was hardly sarcastic, but I get your point. It was a little harsh; I agree. My apologies.
YungMeatball @ross3488 Well I did read it incorrectly so I apologize for that. I don't appreciate the sarcasm--i.e. "Read it again...slowly" and "So fuck you"--but I guess I deserve it after I told you to F off.
ross3488 @YungMeatball Look man. You didn't pay enough attention to the wording of my comment. Read it again...slowly. I was taking the side of the Americans. What I said was that people complaining that Americans don't distinguish between the two terms (because they don't drink tea in the same way) gets old. And if you'll notice, at the beginning of my comment I clarified that I wasn't an American. The only reason for my having to make this clarification would be if I was defending them. So fuck you.
YungMeatball @ross3488 So the fact that some Americans can't distinguish between a kettle and a teapot you get annoyed by all of us? Maybe you just have a problem. Here's some American English for you: FUCK OFF :)

redsixcustodian Chill out. Kettle? Teapot? Does it really matter? I see it as queen's english and american ; two different languages. I respect that you identify the two with their respective names. Perhaps their identities got lost in our American desire for efficiency?

ross3488 I'm not flattering myself. I'm also not an American, so please don't call me a Yank. (Reaaaaally annoying). I don't think Americans hate being reminded of their inability to speak "correct English...every time they open...[their] very big mouth[s]." I think they simply don't like people (English, South Africans, Australians, New Zealanders, etc.) telling them how ugly American English sounds and that they don't distinguish between kettle and teapot. That shit gets old after a while.

ciucia2222 According to a Hungarian psychologist, when you are alone with the child, you should speak to it in German, your wife in Finnish. And when the three of you are together, you can speak in English. So the child will understand based on the situation, which language to choose....I have seen a child like this, Hungarian mom, Italian dad and answering to the stewardess in English :DDDDDDD
ciucia2222 You should speak in German to your child, your wife in Finnish, and when the three of you are together then you can speak in English. That's the advise a psychologist was giving to mixed couples with English as common language (like my husby and I -Hungarian, Italian, English). But you must not mix the languages ever. And shouldn't start at an early age adding a 4th language. (why not? hehehe)

daconmiked awesome , I'm going to try live mocha . certainly god bless these people who make sites for free to learn the coolest subject in the world , languages .

Jitpring I don't think my comment went through. My friend has used both Rosetta Stone and Fluenz to learn French. He says Fluenz is far superior because, among other things, it leverages one's knowledge of English to learn French. See their website for more on this.

shadowcat228 I saw that one advertised and book marked the site I think. That's one of the few I haven't tried. It looked pretty similar to Rosetta Stone and it I think it looked pretty good. Have you used it before? If so, any tips for it or your thoughts on it?
AmatuALLAH92 i like ur video :) very good

greensofa1 Rosetta Stone is just a waste of time. It's just out touch with language reality as spoken by natives
Jitpring Fluenz is far superior to Rosetta Stone.
shadowcat228 Not sure if my post went through or not. I recommended a combination of Rosetta Stone and Smart Fm. Smart Fm is free and is great for learning vocabulary, but that's about it. Rosetta Stone is good for everything but vocabulary really. Smart fm is free, easy to use, and is very good AFTER you get the basics of the language down. The site is smart. fm (without the space)
MightySunTzu so, anyone actually learn a language successfully yet? are these really worth my time in order to speak and/or read another language, i want to learn chinese(Cantonese preferably)...

ross3488 I'm not flattering myself.

(why not? hehehe)

Jitpring Fluenz is far superior to Rosetta Stone.
shadowcat228 Not sure if my post went through or not. I recommended a combination of Rosetta Stone and Smart Fm. Smart Fm is free and is great for learning vocabulary, but that's about it. Rosetta Stone is good for everything but vocabulary really. Smart fm is free, easy to use, and is very good AFTER you get the basics of the language down. The site is smart. fm (without the space)

ross3488 @YungMeatball Well the "So fuck you" part was hardly sarcastic, but I get your point.

MightySunTzu so, anyone actually learn a language successfully yet? are these really worth my time in order to speak and/or read another language, i want to learn chinese(Cantonese preferably)...

ross3488 @YungMeatball Well the "So fuck you" part was hardly sarcastic, but I get your point.

(why not? hehehe)

ross3488 @YungMeatball Well the "So fuck you" part was hardly sarcastic, but I get your point.
Here's some American English for you: FUCK OFF :)

ross3488 I'm not flattering myself.

(why not? hehehe)

If so, any tips for it or your thoughts on it?

shadowcat228 Not sure if my post went through or not.

(why not? hehehe)

jamey32usa ***FSI LANGUAGE COURSES UPDATE*** If you are looking for the FSI language courses talked about in this video, the correct URL for the site is fsi-language-courses(dot)org NOT (dot)com. It was moved about a year or so after this video was made. Everything is still free, and it actually has more materials now than it did before.
daconmiked awesome , I'm going to try live mocha . certainly god bless these people who make sites for free to learn the coolest subject in the world , languages .
cuki5l man i hope this work
Jitpring I don't think my comment went through.

AmatuALLAH92 i like ur video :) very good
robrobbins Es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen.
greensofa1 Rosetta Stone is just a waste of time.
MightySunTzu so, anyone actually learn a language successfully yet? are these really worth my time in order to speak and/or read another language, i want to learn chinese(Cantonese preferably)...

ross3488 @YungMeatball Well the "So fuck you" part was hardly sarcastic, but I get your point.
