nicoli492: 7-zip can handle the x.01.rar type of files in torrents. Just right click one of the parts and choose "Extract Here" and it'll unzip the big single file.
nicoli492: weird. i just barely did it for one. i did read somewhere that 7-zip can be picky for rar files if they don't have the correct headers or something. maybe the one i was successful with was packaged differently than the one you were trying.

I do basically all that to almost every computer i come into contact with, just because it usually makes a big difference (except for setting windows visuals to performance, as you said this is for slow machines). Arkanen: For folder size i just use Total Commander and Alt+Shift+Enter.
In Visual Effects section i do like you, except i tick on "Show windows contents while dragging" and "Use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop" (if someone use wallpaper it'll make icon text background transparent). For all autostart needs there is free program Autoruns - it shows everything that starts with windows (program, drivers and services, dlls and so on). For uninstalling there is free and small program Safarp.
Arkanen: I find myself using Firefox more and more then Opera, you know why ? Lots of small and bigger bugs, that are still there sometimes years from now. For example Opera takes less memory but at the cost of CPU power (there is also still 100% cpu bug). If you don't know what i mean open many many tabs and you'll see - FF will just take lot of ram, but not so much cpu.
jimmyrcom: I've never had that happen. It's probably caused by big third party plugins like java that aren't heavily tested on opera.
Arkanen: I'll test if its java or flash plugings.
Poison7Mushroom: im using 7-zip at the moment and it can unrar files. it just doesnt show the books on the file, its usually blank but they work

keke44: internet explorer is a slower internet browser than browsers like opera or firefox. but firefox is pretty slow on startup. the problem with internet explorer is that internet uses too much services or sources to start or work. plug ins makes it slow and updating it adds it more things, makes it slower. theres the viruses problem too, some hardware viruses infects internet explorer by creating fake toolbars or plug-ins and activeXs. Opera and firefox are pretty imune to those.

ragnafake: You should really do a nLite basic tutorial some time. I'm sure you know what it does, so I won't explain. That way people could do their own install discs with all their personal tweaks and programs already installed and applied.
ragnafake: Also Jimmy, I really dislike the way you put single frames of random cute animals or worse - Naruto into the middle of your latest videos. I can see its done to do some eye catching and "trick" some people into viewing your videos. But do you really need that? I think you and your videos are good enough without this. Its just annoying to me in the preview when browsing your videos.

DeeJaySantana: About Opera (5:24) I have lots of crashes and delays from Opera. Only Firefox and Netscape is reliable, IMO. K-Meleon browser is something I think is also stable.

Note it's 1024 and not 1000. That's why you may get a 80 gig harddrive and it'll only really have 78.125 GB (80,000 MB).

slashsnemesis: for a firefox extension i really recommend easyGestures. you can have the back button, forward button, etc. with a click of your mouse and within 2 centimeters too.
