bballpro172: hey. Nice finding. VERY VERY USEFUL! Thx

SuperSmasherX7: Thanks for finding it for mac Jimmy :D

BradOFarrell: Arg I gotta know--what song is that in your intro, it sounds so familiar. Is it a megaman song?

Axhdz14: this program is really good i just deleted like 4 dvd files that i didnt even know i had thank you jimmy get this program NOW!!!

wow4now: awesome. I'm definitely going to get that for my mac.

chaosmortal: hahaha! I listed my top 15 largest files and they were ALL games XD

ddyerfamily: Thanks
Keep up good work !
Until next Vid, U Rock !

bringmoney: what is the name of the firefox theme you're using here?

ryan9559: thats not firefox, thats opera.

pulsedr1ver: there's another video called disk inventory x for mac that's pretty cool also.

NappyAlpha: ty for the help very very useful

nickfizzle: Nice tutorial ^^ thanks for posting =D

Shinigami37: There's a program for windows that does the same thing that GrandPerspective does. It's called WinDirStat. Check it out at ht tp :// windirstat . info/

Pyromancia: Very nice tutorial...I'm going to have to try this out.

smalldude55: all my family guy episodes are eating up all my drive space (11.5GB). i barly have room for more programs. can you make a tutorial for how to shrink your files? that would be verry helpful.

jimmyrcom: Buy an external. It's like $100 for 200 gigs or more. Winrar of 7zip does not compress videos well. Videos are already well compressed with a video encoder.

voiyour: as much open source and free s/w you use, dont you worry about downloading viruses?

and, yes, I know we all use virus scanners and firewalls etc, but stilll..??

jimmyrcom: nah JimmyRcom is not worried about viruses, virus are worried about accidentally downloading JimmyRcom.

voiyour: i believe u... but for those of us not so fearless, howbout a tutorial on virus scanners de-wormers and firewalls.

i used norton commaner for a few years, but still got 2 viruses and had to completely reformat my hd to recover. it was a real nightmare!

now i just use free s/w called avast. so far so good, but who knows. i'd be paranoid to dl a bunch of open source stuff.

jimmyrcom: Opensource means you can see the source code. They release the source along with the executable. Open source is least likely to have a virus since people who make viruses usually don't release their source code =P. Search JimmyRcom Viruses. I recommend nod32 if you want commercial software. Avast is fine I guess.

sumfortyone: Avast is good, but it uses lots of resources, AVG is a better, free a/v

alova: Holy shit Jimmy! You must have psychic powers!I needed disk space so I was trying to find stuff I could delete from my hardrive about 2 minutes ago.. I come here to youtube..saw you uploaded a new vid... watched it... couldn't believe it. Thanks!

ForgivenForSure: Hey, just wondering, but what do you mean by "...help support these videos by subscribing or commenting"?

jimmyrcom: Getting on top rated / most discussed / most subscribed list gives this channel views = more people watch my videos.

ForgivenForSure: I see. Well, the more people that learn of Jimmy Knowledge, the better, I say.

leojd: why dooes it say I've already rated this video?????? what did you do Jimmy!!!!

mex10rap: Yea Opera Is The Best Browser. I Think You Should Do A Tut For Opera, Like All The Widgets And Other Feartures Of It.

d00bp00q: the b3st program ever for this mater is SpaceMonger

chick it out and tell me what do you think

truecop: another good video, good job jimmy

adamgooday: does opera have a adblock like firefox? i can't find it on their widget page :/

MrQ1989: hey. jimmy. question.

did you partitioned your drives? i thought it was no longer the in thing?

jimmyrcom: mm all drives are partitioned. If it's what you're asking, no I don't dualboot a different operating system. My old laptop has linux, this one has xp.

jimmyrcom: nope, It feels like a lost a leg when I have a mouse with one button.

esetnod32: o I see. Thanks for the video Tutorials.

SilverKey7: hehe! I understand. Once you get used to Windows, there is no way you'll use MAC again in your life.
Plus MAC is for basic people, who only need the computer to create files and surf the internet.
You cant hack with a MAC! :P

askapalaphagy: unless you own a laptop silverkey. otherwise it won't feel the same.

stevewins914: keep it up jimmy love the advice

qwertyzaqx: woooooooo jimmy!
nice one!
you should keep making videos so our computers dont suck.

keonepax: Jimmy, you da man! Thanks for your tutorials. I'm learning a lot.

MiscellaneousP: GrandPerspective is a SequoiaView clone! Google 'SequoiaView', it's a free program for Windows that does exactly the same thing.

MiscellaneousP: SequoiaView is actually mentioned at the GrandPerspective site.

lindieinred: hi jimmy do you know of any free virus protecting/scanning programs? thanks.

vmistry94: clamwin, antivir, AVG, Avast (i think), there all free and really good

roccigiovanniberrini: droppin comment love who is that guy who makes cd roms about computer shit ? anyway he must hate you later jimmey
RgB

tonsofpunk: JIMMY, WHAT SPEC'S YOUR COMPUTER?

askapalaphagy: lol: Drive D[ssssss] XD

thanks Jimmy for the tutorial :)

WhoblehwahV2: This is very useful. I like the theme at the end, lol.

flowblog: Hey, a great alternative for windows is also sequoia view. Works like the mac prog... gives you a map of all files...

jimmyrcom: already mentioned in description

a7x310: Good video JimmyR, but doesn't "Add or Remove Programs" function for Windows work pretty much the same? As long as you check the drop-down menu to list files by size?

jimmyrcom: no, and already suggested in description. there can be large files that are not installed programs

Famf9983: WinDirStat is one of my favorite programs.

BeechSundowner: Good program and fast! Thanks!

lnatan25: Just a small correction (lmao at my nip ticking):
Delphi is pronounced like Del-fee.

jimmyrcom: =OO.. thanks for telling me. My friend pronounced it "dolphin" -_0... meh that's texas.

laughinsilence: thanks for the vid, jimmy, helpful as always

Montoya2005: Mac Finder already has this option, just search for "." and use the + option to view by "Size greater than" then just list ascending results by size...

ok so its not good for folders or files with no extensions but works for me.

dovad16: Excellent video. I learn a lot from you and about amazed at your expertise to be so young. Mostly I enjoy your giving spirit. You want to help others. Such a trait smacks of "nobility of purpose" which I like.

introspectivekid: thnx for all the vids, haha i must pay atention, cause i dont speak englsih, so sometimes is a little difficult to me to understand what you are saying xD

xeushal: yeyyyyyyyyyyy otravez jimmy hace de las suyass !! Keep the good work compadre!!

xeushal: por casualidad no conoces algun programa que me diag que drivers me hacen faltan en mi compu .. es que reinstale el SO a una laptop de un amigo pero me hacen falta varios drivers y no se cuales con :( bueno de antemano Muchas grax :)

TheTruthHurts101: Many states, in an effort to shut out Ron Paul are now closing their primaries. That means that only Republicans can vote in the Presidential primaries for a Republican candidate. Many states are doing this quickly and quietly and giving people very little time to learn about the new rules. For example, New Hampshire decided only a week ago that you will now have to change your party affiliation by October 12, 2007 or it will be too late to do so.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh: That "GrandPerspective" program looks a lot like SequoiaView (also Free, but closed source) for the Windows platform.

sarahbickyo: Thank you! Definitely a great program

qwertyzaqx: I loved this video so much I'm commenting again! yay jimmy! I bet if I got a new computer with none of the changes I made, it would be at least 3 times slower and with more bugs!

aubrei2002: Jimmy you helped me learn a lot of things..Keep it up

mpozer: I just discovered you, and I've been glued to my laptop for 5 hours! You are AMAZING, so keep it up! Gives a neophite like me a sense of security! You make complicated stuff more 'do-able'. Thanks!!

chaosphere187: very good keep up the good work
also noticed dark tranquillity on your program very nice

kenmha: I like WinDirStat it's visually better

darknessofsauske: Man dude,Your nuts"It's the coolest File i never seen" nice jke

majinpvegeta: lmao this thing is pretty cool... i find the largest shit and i just delete it :D

lob31: it's called copyright, you don't own family guy so you can't do anything with it.

Mosberk: loool..... i know that... thats not the point..

WOGI5M: Quick question Jimmy: The size of my C:drive is 180GB and it was near full capacity at about 179GB. So I decided to delete large files such as video files. I deleted about 20GB of video and other files (and subsequently emptied my recycling bin) however the reading on my C:Drive shows that I only have about 190MB of free room and not 20GB.
Do you know what the problem is?

mslovely101: Nice. Does that free software let you also view lost files...(ie: files lost due to system recovery). ???

djkwiky: Hi loving your videos and what you do to help people!
And i can't help to wonder how you do a say 'Follow the cursor mode' using Camstudio? I know you can do it with other screen recording software for E.g. Aviscreen Classic but camstudio i think is better. Well please send me a message telling me how to make the screen recorder follow the cursor thankyou for reading goodbye!!

xXxDANMANxXx: wow ever vid u have they r SO usful ty!!!!

ImmortalDragon: Download Tuneup 2007 and there's a feature called TuneUp Disk Space Explorer that arranges all the different types of media and their sizes.. it really helps.

angelseeker: I use WinDirStat (it visually shows you a color-coded map of every file in your computer and it's easy to find the biggest files).

martinb111: jimmy thanks for this tutorial . i could find files take up in my disk space

jonthe1e: coool

umm btw wot browser are you using??

Flipper103: You can also use SpaceMonger, that program is for Windows and it shows visually! ;)

WoWRSVids: i got that one an i gotCPU speed an it was 1993Mhz

WoWRSVids: an my dads CPU speed was 2993Mhz D=

ampdinner: thanks, jimmyrcom, I just used JDiskReport on my mac, and worked perfectly. Helped me find large, unwanted files in just a few minutes

WWERX7: if u find alot of space in u c drive could u delete it cuz my c drive is on red cuz im using vista and it im afried to download somethng else

arsenalfooty4: What theme are you using for Firefox in this vid?

Karpens16: WinDirStat has a graphical representation of the files in windows computers.

eriban: Just came across this vid. Thanks for featuring my app GrandPerspective (even though you've never seen it ;-).

GhostFaceKillahProd: to find the biggest files all you have to do is go into the control panel click remove/change applications and in th top right corner of the window click the drop down menu and click size

Thisisgam3: wtf that's only for installed programme

freehoxt2: people I just have found THE BEST WEB HOSTING EVER!!!! (free2hoxt,com) its a new website that just has opened, its really cool for saving everything you want, and the best of all its for FREE... try it you won't regreat it!!!
