The only thing I'm worried about it the automatic copy to clipboard, that seems somewhat... risky. Maybe you could make it optional? jimmyrcom: It's no theme, that's what FF3 looks like without all the buttons. +tabmixplus for the tabs, I colored the background white and removed everything except the tools option with a userchrome hack.
BustedJohn: The YouTube player is freezing, it gets to, "Let's translate it to Norwegian", then it stops. Is anyone else getting this? Even when all the video has loaded it won't let me get past that part.

manyhappyreruns: Works for me now on Firefox 2, I have a few minor gripes though. The speed of the window popping up is kind of slow, but I don't know what you could do to fix that. The Window might be less intrusive if you could get rid of it by clicking outside it, cause that's the normal way to get rid of text bubbles. Also, could you make it so there are check marks right next to the languages you have currently selected? Sort of frustrating not knowing. Great job though, works much better than yesterday!
jimmyrcom: I dunno how to make it have checkmarks. I can't make clicking outside of the box because the "onclick" function can't support something like "anything but this element". The speed is the time it takes google translate to translate the text. It's actually pretty fast for what it's doing.

manyhappyreruns: Once again, minor bugs, but I figure it would help you to know. Using the alt+click to translate on release highlights the file menu on windows, from the alt, could lead to a problem, but probably not avoidable. Also, when using the ctrl+alt+click if you don't release the keys before closing the window it opens another one over and over until you let go of the keys, probably also not avoidable. Well, don't want to be a burden, just hope it helps.

jimmyrcom: FF3 doesn't have many extensions / themes yet. If you can go without them yeah, FF3 is better.

This is very helpful for me because I live in Quebec so I often deal with French e-mails. I can get by ok in French but this does come in handy.
I tested it on a French e-mail I got and the translation was good. It might not be able to reconstruct a sentence 100% properly... but you get a very good idea of what is being sad, nothing was lost in the little test I did... thanks for this plug in.
jimmyrcom: A 10 year old can't speak fluently and has trouble understanding complicated stuff. If it takes over 10 years of pure exposure to learn a language well it doesn't seem likely a computer can reconstruct it well, especially really fast. Google is referencing word lists with other word lists with some additional common axiom and conjugation checks.
Pipahh: I wasn't complaining, just giving some feed back.
I've used various translation sites, they all pretty much suck. This translation that it did for me on my French e-mail was much better than what I would normally get. Unless it's a human translation, no translation will ever be perfect, but that is ok... because its free ;)
This plug's translation is much better than what I've seen, and this will be my new preference for translations.

jimmyrcom: xbox live is just a 3ghz comp that connects exclusively to microsoft's private network with a limited range of games. My dualcore has the freedom to connect to any network and play a massive selection of games. There's plenty of gaming communities lol. You can use teamspeak mumble ventrilo, special instant messengers to communicate with them while playing.
enisity: PC is more for community, i wouldn't say using xbox live as a community theirs no way you can actually communicate with several people at a time. No type of real clan support to much, a little but not much for community. Just friends and people in game but thats about it.

jimmyrcom: Go to tools -> addons, uninstall the previous version and then reinstall from the link in the description. Make sure it says 1.2. It should have those options in the menu.

jimmyrcom: ohhhh. That's the id of the comment. That text is randomized. The # is an anchor that makes the page focus on the html element with id "klS5-Mum00M" when the page finishes loading.
Ghakimx: Oh, so now I know. Still, its kinda odd for that to be the ID. "kiss mum", thats funny. When you spoke about how you developed the Google translation for Firefox, how did you learn the programming language? For me, its near impossible to remember anything.
jimmyrcom: It's not really a programming language. It's just javascript with some random interface xml crap called xul. The mozilla site has tutorials to help you get started.

jimmyrcom: I didn't know veoh didn't work for Colombia. You can still use torrents or the megaupload links I have on my anime site for direct downloads. If you open a free megaupload account the limitations lessen.

jimmyrcom: you can alt+middle click or ctrl+alt+click too, as mentioned in the video some linux distributions use alt click as a quick key for draggin the window.

Shadow492k6: Hey Jimmy awesome add-on using it right now, but! I've noticed a small problem when using this add=on with firefox 3. As i downloaded firefox 3 very recently i can confrim this isnt a problem in the older version.
When you open more than one "Translation Window" you get the new translation in the old box and small boxes pop up. Its ok but annoying for when you need to re-read things.

Also Linux is a whole lot easier than windows, because it has a whole lot less in it... which sometimes gives it the edge over window's servers because it is free.
Also Internet Explorer runs horribly on my Windows... It takes nearly 8 - 10 minutes to start, compare that to the < 6 seconds for Firefox 8)
Anyways, nice little handy extension ;)

slennzer: u could find out how accurate the translated text is by inserting the translated text back into google translator & selecting your original language. for example: Translation, English » German
english: "i have a fetish for cats (this is an example)"
german: "ich habe ein Fetisch für Katzen (dies ist ein Beispiel)"
now to see how accurate this translation is, i use the translated text so German » then translate that into english and i ended up with the same. but its not allways correct.
